The map above, put online today by Larry Sabato, a summary of the changes brought about by the midterm of a month ago the House of Representatives, highlighting what he calls " regional polarization.
Each red dot on the map corresponds to a seat in the room that Rep. Dem have pulled off - and there are 66 (sixty-six).
contrast to the blue ones, which are three: so the net benefit of the GOP seats is 63 (confirmed then estimates of the first hour, and credited to Rep. least 60 new seats).
of seats won by the Republic, only 23 are in areas where the GOP is traditionally strong, while the bulk (29 seats) is " in the central and northern in the middle of the industrial Midwest, with peaks in Pennsylvania and Ohio but also in State of New York and Illinois, so the Dem held up - and very good - only on the two coasts (just as I noted here already "hot").
